Bad As A Mother

Are you bad as a mother?

If you’re a beauty products junkie like me, you have pretty much tried everything. Now I’m no expert, but I know the difference between a product that works and one that doesn’t. In my experience, a high cost doesn’t always mean that the product is any better. Here’s my list of products that I have tried over the years in both spend and splurge categories.

Beauty for Every Budget

Mascara: if you only wear one thing on your eyes, make it mascara. I can safely say that I have tried pretty much every single brand on the market in the mascara category and there are only two brands I would use. And when I say almost every brand, I’m not kidding. Trust me on this one! Mascara wakes up those tired eyes, so it is a must for any beauty routine.

Diorshow: This mascara is killer. It has a rich black color without looking clumpy, and really does lengthen and separate. It’s a really classy look and can be easily removed. The one drawback is that it can  dry out quickly so be sure to tighten that cap!

Maybelline Great Lash: This is a classic! I had been wearing this mascara for years and each time I tried a new brand, nothing compared. It goes on smooth and not clumpy. It takes a little time to dry, so it’s super easy to fix any mistakes. It has a  rich black shade and is long lasting. I usually use two coats of this, so if you prefer a more natural look, it is easy to control how much you apply.

Lipgloss: I love lip gloss and never leave the house without lip color. Like NEVER. This lip gloss is the bomb. I have light and dark colors and both wear really well.

MAC Lipglass: I pretty much live in the color Oyster Girl. It is not sticky and doesn’t end up on your teeth. As with any MAC product, they have a wide range of colors. The colors are long-lasting and they don’t bleed, especially if you wear them with lipliner. You can go light, or layer them on thick for a really glamorous look.

Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush: These tubes are just the best. I have one in pretty much every purse I own for beauty emergencies of the lipgloss kind. Like MAC, they are also not sticky and tend to stay one for awhile. The bonus on these is that they smell really great!

Bronzer: Every girl needs a little bronzer, especially when you’re feeling kind of washed out in the winter. I kind of use these as my pressed powder so that I don’t fade into the background with my fair skin. Both of these are pretty versatile and can be used as a blush if you prefer a lighter color powder.

Lorac Tantalizer: I love this so much, because it has multiple hues within the same pot. These pots last forever and even come in a small travel size in case you wanted to pop one in your purse or try it out before committing to a new beauty product. It has a very nice shimmer that isn’t too sparkly for day wear.

Sephora Collection: Did I mention that I love Sephora? They have some really great products and this one is no exception. These compacts come in a range of colors and also have a very slight hint of shimmer so that it can be worn during the day. The compact comes with a mirror as well, so it’s great to throw in your bag for touch ups.

Foundation: I’m going to be honest and say that I pretty much hate foundation, although I love the even look my skin has when I am wearing it. That being said, foundation is a great way to protect your skin and to even out your complexion.

Dior Airbrush Foundation: I love this foundation so much! I absolutely love the way that it goes on and it doesn’t feel heavy at all. In fact, because it is a spray foundation, you can control how much foundation to apply. Don’t feel weird when you first shake it and it sounds like spraypaint. I promise you are going to love it. It’s absolutely my favorite for those of us who don’t like wering foundation. No caked-on look with this one.

Loreal TrueMatch: This is a great option for those of you wanting to spend a little bit less. They have a wide range of color options, and the foundation doesn’t feel heavy at all. The bonus on this one is the SPF protection as well! It goes on smooth and doesn’t look streaky or caked on either.

Eyeliner: Of course, along with my lipstick and lashes, no self respecting Queens girl could go without the standard Black eyeliner. Here are my two favorites.

MAC Fluidline Eye Liner Gel: This eyeliner looks really complicated if you are used to a pencil, but trust me. You will love it. I have used it on both the outside and inside of my eye and that line doesn’t go anywhere. It doesn’t run, doesn’t smudge, and doesn’t wear off. They also have several other colors in the line, but I always defer to black. You will need a brush, so I suggest checking out your local store for one that gives you a great line, especially if you are planning on making some wings.

Bonne Bell Eye Style Precise: This is a great option for those of you who aren’t ready to get into the brush and painting action. This is an easy to use option and is also long-lasting and precise. It never fades and works both inside and outside the eye.

I’ve always loved playing with makeup since I was a little girl. The best part about trying new products is discovering new favorites, so go ahead and give one a try. You won’t be disappointed!
